RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA – David VanGorden, candidate for Rancho Cucamonga City Council District 2, is encouraging residents to remain engaged in ongoing community discussions regarding future growth, infrastructure planning, traffic management, and wildfire preparedness in Rancho Cucamonga.

Recent public attention surrounding proposed hillside development projects has prompted renewed discussion among residents regarding evacuation planning, roadway capacity, open space preservation, water resources, and the long-term impact of continued population growth within the community.

VanGorden stated that these conversations are important for residents throughout Rancho Cucamonga regardless of political affiliation or personal views on development.

“Rancho Cucamonga continues to grow, and residents understandably want to discuss how future growth may affect traffic, infrastructure, public safety, and quality of life,” said VanGorden. “Community involvement and open discussion are important parts of the process.”

Residents living near foothill communities have increasingly voiced concerns regarding wildfire preparedness and evacuation planning during periods of high fire danger.

Chris Little, President of the Rancho Cucamonga Preservation Society, stated:

“Many residents remain concerned about wildfire preparedness, evacuation routes, traffic congestion, and rising fire insurance costs affecting foothill communities. These issues continue to be important topics of discussion for many families living in Rancho Cucamonga.”

VanGorden emphasized that public participation and respectful dialogue help strengthen communities and encourage greater understanding of the issues facing the city.

“One of the strengths of Rancho Cucamonga has always been residents who care deeply about their community and stay involved,” VanGorden added. “Conversations about growth and infrastructure are important because they affect both current residents and future generations.”

VanGorden is running for Rancho Cucamonga City Council District 2 against incumbent Kristine Scott and candidate Dejonae Shaw. His campaign platform emphasizes transparency, responsible growth, infrastructure-first planning, public safety, and meaningful community engagement.
