Daughters Against Domestic Violence Event To Be Held In Atlanta on March 24

Event to Promote Support For Preventing Domestic Violence

Atlanta – March 16, 2018 – The 4th Annual Daughters Against Domestic Violence event will be held on March 24. It is being presented by Winning While Waiting, a group looking to support positive behaviors in individuals and to help at-risk youth with developing strong life skills that they can use throughout their lives. The theme of the event is “My Pain Has a Purpose” and is about domestic violence survivors working together to improve upon how women can be protected so violence does not become a problem in the future.

Winning While Waiting focuses on helping young women with empowerment and support for restoring lives. This includes looking to improve one’s mindset and to move forward in life.

The organization particularly focuses on respect for others and to help people learn how to get along with one another and to respect their differences. This comes as domestic violence continues to be a problem through Georgia. Georgia has the eighth-highest rate of domestic violence deaths in the United States. In 2016, about 71 percent of domestic violence deaths in the state entailed firearm usage.

Winning While Waiting is providing efforts to help people with staying confident. It is about giving young women the help they need to know what they can do with their lives and to move forward. This is where the Daughters Against Domestic Violence event will come into play as it focuses on helping women to identify what they can do to change their lives for the better.

The event will be held on March 24 at the Piccadilly on 2841 Greenbriar Parkway in Atlanta from 3pm to 6pm. A panel of domestic violence survivors will discuss points relating to how women can move forward in life and what can be done to keep domestic violence from spreading across the state.

Guest speakers will also be on hand at the event with Lakisha Copeland leading the roster. Copeland is a popular motivational speaker and life coach.

Additional information on the event can be found online at www.winningwhilewaiting.com. The event is free to attend although it is best to register at Eventbrite.com beforehand to help secure one’s spot at the event.
