The Yangtze River Crossing Project of China Petroleum Pipeline Bureau Crossing Branch is the first project in China to use epoxy fiberglass reinforced plastic FRP for overall pipe protection, and it is also the longest pipeline crossing length in China so far, with a crossing length of 3400 meters. The survey shows that there are many rocks in the crossing area, and the geological conditions are relatively harsh. To ensure the safety of pipeline use and prevent the anti-corrosion layer at the pipeline joint from being scratched or peeled off, our company has developed a special modified epoxy fiberglass product specifically for pipeline crossing.

After two days and one night of one-time crossing, the inspection showed that the epoxy fiberglass outer protective layer was intact and the performance indicators of the anti-corrosion layer did not deteriorate, indicating that the epoxy fiberglass effectively protected the 3PE anti-corrosion layer during the crossing process, and received unanimous praise from experts from pipeline research institutes, design institutes, and owners. The successful application of epoxy fiberglass indicates that the problems that have plagued pipeline crossing construction have been fundamentally solved, filling the gap in the field of external protection products for crossing pipelines.

In the product oil pipeline crossing the Yangtze River (Jingjiang – Jiangyin) project, for the anti – corrosion protection project of the epoxy fiberglass outer layer in the Yangtze River directional drilling crossing, Shenzhen CYG Changtong New Material Co., Ltd.’s FRDP epoxy fiberglass was used for the outer layer protection and anti-corrosion of the 3PE outer layer of the entire pipe and the heat-Shrinkable Tape at the weld. This new material is not only convenient and simple for construction, but also the epoxy fiberglass has good bonding and sealing with the PE layer and the outer layer of the heat – Shrinkable Tape. The bonding strength, hardness, and scratch resistance all meet the requirements of the Technical Specification for Epoxy Fiberglass Outer Anti – corrosion Protection Layer for Directional Drilling Crossing. It has played a good anti – corrosion protection role in the water network (acid – base salt) area!
