Creative Biostruture Launches Super-Resolution Microscopy Service, Greatly Improve The Study of Cell-to-macromolecule Biological Structures and Processes

New York – Jan 25th, 2019 – Creative Biostructure recently announces the release of super-resolution microscopy service, which is designed to efficiently observe many biological structures that cannot be resolved under conventional fluorescence microscopy. This new release can support various applications in biological science.

Integrated with advanced super-resolution optical microscope equipment, the super-resolution microscopy offered in Creative Biostructure can capture images at resolutions above the diffraction limit. In addition, as an optical microscope that can be used to observe many biological structures that cannot be resolved under conventional fluorescence microscopy, new advances in this technology now enable them to image three-dimensional (3D) structures, measure interactions through multi-color co-localization, and record dynamic processes in living cells at the nanoscale. It creates new insights into the organization of cells and the dynamics of assembly of biomolecules, which are close to near-molecular resolution.

At present, the super-resolution technology in Creative Biostructure can be divided into two groups. Techniques that support obtaining the imaging an ensemble of molecules by illumination patterns, the most commonly used emitters in biomicroscopes, fluorophores, exhibit a nonlinear response to excitation and can be used to enhance resolution with this nonlinear response, among which are the STED and SIM microscopies, and on the other hand, the chemical complexity of many molecular light sources gives them complex time behaviors that can be used to illuminate several neighboring fluorophores at different times and thus become distinguishable in time., such as STORM and PALM.

Compared to conventional optical microscopes which resolution is limited by diffraction to about 200 nm, our super-resolution imaging techniques destroy the diffraction resolution barrier by modifying the excitation/emission path of the microscope, computer-aided image analysis, or both. Some of the most promising technologies include stimulated emission loss (STED) microscopy, structured illumination microscopy (SIM), and photoactivated localization microscopy (PALM) and random optical reconstruction microscopy (STORM).

‘Super-resolution fluorescence microscopy has shown great promise and ability in studying cell-to-macromolecule biological structures and processes,’ said Jerry Carter, the marketing director in Creative Biostructure, ‘Images obtained from these new super-resolution methods will enable scientists to directly visualize nanoscale biological samples and complement the insights gained through traditional molecular and cellular biology methods, significantly expanding our molecular interactions in living systems and Understanding of dynamic processes.’
