Yancheng, Jiangsu, China – August 19, 2026 – Extreme summer heat and year-round high-temperature conditions can easily disrupt the operation of automated painting lines. High temperatures accelerate the evaporation of paint solvents, inducing coating defects such as pinholes, orange peel, and insufficient adhesion; they also increase the load on painting robots, conveyor skids, and paint piping, while accelerating VOCs volatilization and raising fire protection and environmental compliance risks in the workshop. These are common challenges in powder coating and painting processes for automotive parts, construction machinery, and special-purpose vehicle components.
SURICO specializes in customized intelligent painting turnkey systems and has developed a systematic solution adapted to high-temperature environments from four dimensions.
The first is workshop microclimate control. Independent PID temperature control is implemented for the paint booth, leveling zone, and drying sections, complemented by rotary desiccant dehumidifiers. CFD airflow simulation is used to optimize supply air in the booth, stabilizing the operating temperature and humidity at 22–28°C, with VFD fans regulating airflow during hot weather.
The second is upgrading hardware heat resistance. Water-cooling thermal modules are installed on rotary bell atomizer robots, high-temperature-resistant lubrication components are fitted to conveyor skids, and the drying tunnel is insulated with ceramic fiber layers. Waste heat recovery via exhaust gas heat exchange reduces the overall thermal load in the workshop. Summer-slow curing paints and additives are selected as needed.
The third is reinforcing energy supply and safety defenses. During peak periods, power load margins are secured, and routine inspections are conducted on RTO exhaust treatment equipment, paint-mixing room fire protection facilities, and workshop personnel heat-stroke prevention management.
Finally, an intelligent sensor-based monitoring platform is deployed, integrating online viscometers and temperature-humidity sensors to adaptively adjust paint output and drying tunnel temperature profiles, along with a predictive maintenance system for equipment temperature rise.
This comprehensive high-temperature response system stabilizes the coating yield rate, reduces production line failure rates, controls energy costs, and helps manufacturers’ automated painting lines withstand extreme hot weather conditions.
