August 19, 2020 – Truth, popularly known as “Truth The Barber Artist” on Instagram, is unlike any other barber. He also doubles as a tattoo artist, teacher and mentor, and a NYS employee. Barbers and strippers make for an attractive combination, and these posts by Truth have entertained the world like no other Instagram personality, earning him the celebrity tag.
For over thirty years, Truth has been honing up the art of cutting hair and tattooing. Today he has over 100K followers on Instagram and over 40K fans on TikTok. What catapulted Truth to stardom was his introduction of comedy into the everyday salon life. He launched the barbershop two years ago in Queens, New York, added tattooing later on, and in a short span became a celebrity in his own right.
Truth is the first barber instructor and comedian on Instagram. He is also a proctor for barber license examinations for the state of New York. Among his recent fame is getting his haircut designs featured on a Pantene shampoo commercial, and having clients like former Harlem globetrotter turned influencer, Crissa Ace, and MOP Rapper Lil Fame. Other celebrity clients include Jay Hieron (UFC) and Quentin Homes (Cleveland Indians).
“I hope to one day be able to use my platform to help the less fortunate in some way, that’s my ultimate goal,” says Truth.
Learning the art of cutting hair from his grandmother, who was a beautician, Truth quickly mastered the art, while also engaging in sports like handball as a teenager, and running cross country in track. He was a strong contender in hair cutting contests, ranking in the top three at his first International Hair Show Barber Battle in 2009.
He showed his ambidextrous skills at the American Barber Institute, accomplishing the challenging feat of cutting two skin fades at the same time! Truth did this while he was teaching at the barber school, and uploaded the video of the same.

The comedy acts on video and Instagram with strippers have earned Truth worldwide popularity. He is also known for his sunglasses, although he wears them due to a progressive eye condition that has made him lose a part of his eyesight and made him sensitive to light.
Truth The Barber Artist never imagined his comedy skits would get the great reception they have gotten. He has been featured with other Instagram greats such as Joselito The Puppet and Daniel Jean The Driver. His hair designs have been shared by the Instagram account, “Your Barber Connect”. On Worldstar, he has appeared five times, and he was recently listed among the Top 5 Barbers in Queens by the “It’s Queens” Magazine.
