Los Angeles, CA, USA – June 22, 2020 – Andrew Joseph Zaragoza, Jr announces the upcoming release of his debut book, “A Collection of Poetry on  Being Human,” on August 15, 2020, on Bookbaby. According to Zaragoza, the book encompasses five segments: Me, Enamored, Stumbling, Being Human, and Culmination. Each draws experience rooted in his stories. Zaragoza says, “I’ve gathered, or at least I hope I have, a collection that resounds to material universal experiences. Whether it’s trying to fit into an environment (e.g., me in LA and experiencing multiculturalism), mental health, romance and relationships, history of adverse experiences, or trying to be a role model despite it all, I faced the difficulties and challenges in my life. Reading has always grounded me in support.”

Zaragoza told Dr. Melissa Caudle, bestselling author and media influencer, in an interview for her blog, that he wrote the book to highlight challenges. “I faced many challenges while growing up and tried to express them as best I could,” Zaragoza says. “Granted, it’s the first publication with more to follow regarding that period. However, I wanted to create it as a source of inspiration to others.”

A percentage of the profits will go first to Homeboy Industries as an initiative to utilize the book as a two-way path to raise funds for organizations that support people currently going through adverse experiences such as gang intervention, racial inequities, and lack of opportunities. Zaragoza says, “I also hope that readers gain inspiration through this book to deal with their current issues or to seek refuge in it as well to gain insight and knowledge from the words I’ve written.”
