El Paseo, CA – Apr 2, 2019 – A marathon is a grueling 26.2 miles of running on hard pavement – so what better way to cross the finish line than with a mimosa in one hand and a swag bag in the other?
That’s the thought behind the new “USA Women’s Marathon and Half Marathon,” a self-described “luxury” race scheduled for November 23, 2019 in Palm Desert, California. Runners will begin arriving for the marathon days before the race to pick up their bibs and enjoy the race’s companion lifestyle expo event at the Gardens of El Paseo, which features luxury shopping, dining and entertainment.
The luxury experience continues on race day, when all finishers of the marathon and half marathon will be presented with a 5th Avenue finisher’s necklace, a lululemon race shirt – and a mimosa. Following the race, participants will get to enjoy live music, complementary massages, a yoga pavilion (to stretch after a long race) and a buffet. There will also be a Vendor’s Village at the finish line for participants and their families to look for a fantastic keepsake to commemorate their experience.
“Running a marathon or half marathon is a fantastic achievement, so why not celebrate it in style?” says race director Lee Ann Yarbor. “We want to appeal to runners who love running, but also love the finer things in life.”

The USA Women’s Marathon and Half Marathon is a unique luxury race experience, scheduled for November 23, 2019 in Palm Desert, California. The marathon and half marathon are both in the process of receiving USATF certification and will allow runners to qualify for the Boston Marathon and New York Half Marathon, but what sets this race apart is what happens after runners cross the finish line.
