Cesium Hydroxide (CsOH) is a chemical compound consisting of cesium ions and hydroxide ions. It is a water-soluble source of cesium and is typically found in any of several hydrate forms. The cesium element is mostly extracted either from the lepidolite or pollucite ore. It has limited applications owing to its high volatility and reactivity. Furthermore, it is extremely hygroscopic and a strong base, powerful enough to corrode through glass.

Cesium Hydroxide is majorly used as an etchant for highly doped semiconductors cleaning in an electronics industry owing to its high reactivity. It is also used as an electrolyte in electrical storage batteries. Cesium hydroxide further finds application in chemicals industry as a catalyst in the polymerization of cyclic siloxanes and prepare cesium 4-methyl benzenesulfonate. Additionally, cesium hydroxide can efficiently catalyze the addition of alcohols, substituted anilines, and heterocyclic amines to phenylacetylene to compensate for substituted enol ethers and enamines. Furthermore, cesium hydroxide is used to make porous cesium titanosilicates, a potential ion-exchange material for cleanup of radioactive wastes.
