Career In STEM Announces $500 Scholarships for Teens Interested in Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics

NORTH WINDHAM, CT. – April 13, 2018 – National online educational organization Career InSTEM® is offering a biannual $500 scholarship for middle and high school students interested in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields. The deadline for the scholarships is April 30 and November 30, with the winner of each being announced mid-May and mid-December, respectively.

The Career In STEM® scholarship will help students passionate about a STEM field further their education and ultimately attain a career in STEM. The scholarships will support a number of initiatives such as starting a college fund, paying for trade school education, covering online coursework, or even for entrepreneurial endeavors. The easiest way for any student to apply for the scholarships is to complete Career In STEM’s online Career Scavenger Hunt. Students are also automatically entered for consideration for the scholarship if they take part in any of Career In STEM’s online summer camps, which begin the first week of July.

The Scavenger Hunt’s goal is to help students explore STEM careers that match their unique interests and personality. STEM jobs are some of the most well-paying and in-demand jobs in the United States. The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects that the need for experts in STEM fields will increase dramatically in the coming years. Career In STEM is hopeful that these scholarships will bring teens closer to their career goals. As of April 11, 2018 over 220 students have already entered the scholarship contest throughout the United States.

As a woman-owned small business, Career In STEM® is deeply committed to empowering teens interested in STEM to reach their career and life goals. In addition to this scholarship and online courses, Career In STEM is actively on the forefront of education efforts such as teaming up with schools and working with nonprofits to inspire girls interested in STEM. “I created Career In STEM®in response to the frustrations I experienced as a STEM major in college, as a K-12 science teacher, and now as a parent. It is my hope that in providing these scholarships, a STEM career will be within reach for any student, anywhere,” says CEO Ashley Pereira.
