“We wanted to help lonely people and we figured our most likely audience would be isolated elderly people. It just goes to show you that loneliness affects people of all ages,” said GetEncouragement.com founder Rob Cross.
“Some of the younger subscribers to the service are struggling with emotional issues and just need someone to talk to. We won’t turn the millennials away, we will try to be their friend too,” said Cross.
According to a recent online article at Forbes.com (JAN 18, 2017) Loneliness Might Be A Bigger Health Risk Than Smoking Or Obesity. The article states that a lonely person is significantly more likely to suffer an early death than a non-lonely one.
