Bit-soul-Kitchen is the newly launched and one of its kind initiatives that aim to open and maintain a free dining room in the most severely punished areas of the Gaza Strip through the very popular Bitcoin. It’s a project that will provide food to people suffering from harsh conditions imposed in the area. Bit-soul-kitchen is started by a bunch of people already in the Bitcoin world, running an online coffee marketplace called FlavoursPlace that offers a wide range of coffee, tea, spices as well as coffee & teaware.
Being based on the blockchain platform, Bit-soul-kitchen effortlessly maintains transparency with its donors by publicly displaying all donations and expenses. It makes it easy for anyone who wants to share a meal with the needy and help them by contributing through Bitcoin, regardless of where they are. The aim of the project is not just to give food but to accompany the people and make them feel they are not alone or abandoned in the times of crisis. The team behind it chose Bitcoin as the suitable medium for this project for coherence and to evade illegal economic blockade.
Bit-soul-Kitchen invites donations from generous contributors and prefers to have small monthly payments than a large payout. The reason for encouraging monthly payments is to have some continuity in the payments that each kitchen needs due to the nature of its work. The platform is using a coinbase account and API that will be responsible for keeping live accounting at all times. Those who don’t own Bitcoin can also participate in the project through coinbase and buying Bitcoin using their credit card.
