Bareroots Footwear has expanded its online collection to over 600 styles, marking a major growth milestone. Now serving the US, UK, Canada, and Australia, the brand strengthens its position as a leading destination for stylish, comfortable, and accessible everyday footwear.

NEW YORK – Bareroots Footwear has expanded its online collection to more than 600 styles, marking significant growth for the e-commerce brand as it extends operations across four international markets.

The expansion, completed over the past three months, includes loafers, sneakers, sandals and boots designed to balance style with comfort for everyday wear. The brand now operates in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Australia. Online footwear sales reached $120.12 billion globally in 2024, according to Straits Research, with the e-commerce segment expected to grow 7.2 percent annually through 2033.

Maarten Klijnsma founded the company after identifying a gap between fashion-focused brands and comfort-driven footwear. ECOMFORWARD LLC operates the brand.

“Many brands either focus on fashion and aesthetics or on orthopedic comfort, but very few strike the right balance,” Klijnsma said. “We wanted to create a destination where customers could find shoes that looked great, felt comfortable all day and were priced within reach.”

The company launched in November 2024 with limited performance in Australia. After repositioning in July 2025 to target multiple regions with a broader product range, sales accelerated in August 2025.

The U.S. Census Bureau reported e-commerce retail sales reached $304.2 billion in the second quarter of 2025, representing 16.3 percent of total retail sales. The footwear category has seen particularly strong online adoption as consumers seek variety and convenience.

Klijnsma said building customer trust presented challenges in a market dominated by established brands. The company focused on customer experience through packaging quality and communication.

The brand targets consumers aged 25 to 55 who value versatile footwear for multiple settings. Customers in North America, Europe and Australia can shop through the company’s e-commerce platform.
