SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – September 29, 2026 – Avinity Health, a physician-guided longevity, health optimization, and medical aesthetics clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona, today announced that Virginia Henry, MSN, FNP-C, RN, has joined its clinical team as a nurse practitioner. Virginia will help oversee the clinic’s health optimization programs, working within the practice’s established model of physician oversight.
Virginia is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C) with more than six years of nursing experience, much of it in nephrology, the medical specialty focused on kidney health. Her hospital career includes inpatient dialysis nursing at Mayo Clinic in Phoenix and leadership of acute inpatient hemodialysis operations at HonorHealth. She also brings significant hands-on experience with therapeutic plasma exchange (TPE), a procedure that removes a portion of a patient’s plasma and replaces it with a replacement fluid, in hospital settings for those struggling with autoimmune conditions.
The combination of nurse practitioner credentials and hospital-based nephrology experience is uncommon among providers in longevity medicine. Virginia’s nurse practitioner clinical training included nephrology and internal medicine at a high-volume outpatient nephrology practice, along with rotations in adult primary care, intergrative health with patient’s with severe mental illness, pediatrics, and women’s health.
Throughout her career, Virginia has worked on behalf of patients both at the bedside and in health policy, merging her political science background with her medical background. She continues to advocate to improve our healthcare system and increase access of care. She is a former board member of the American Nephrology Nurses Association (ANNA), has served as a health policy representative for ANNA Arizona, and has advocated for patients in Washington, D.C. She was also named as the first National Board Member of the Emerging Nephrology Nurse Fellow by ANNA, where she contributed to the national ANNA board planning educational activities for nurses and advanced practice nurses and advancing nephrology outreach.

Virginia earned a Master of Science in Nursing with a Family Nurse Practitioner specialization from the University of Phoenix, graduating summa cum laude, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain University, graduating cum laude. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario.

Thomas, MD, a Mayo Clinic-trained nephrologist who oversees the clinic’s therapeutic plasma exchange program; and Medical Consultant Salma Jesmin, MD, a board-certified internist and geriatrician.
