Pune, India, December, 2017/MRFR Press Release/- Market Research Future published a Half Cooked research report on “Global Automotive Exhaust System Market Research Report – Forecast to 2022” – Market Analysis, Scope, Stake, Progress, Trends and Forecast to 2022.
Automotive Exhaust System Global Market – Overview
The Global Automotive Exhaust System Market is growing with the rapid pace. According to a recent study report published by the Market Research Future, The global market of Automotive Exhaust System will grow at a rapid pace over the forecast period. The market is forecasted to witness slow but steady growth by 2027, which will be a surplus growth at a moderate CAGR during the projected period (2016 -2027).
With the global economy undergoing an unprecedented level of shift, major emerging countries such as China, India, Thailand, Indonesia, and others are becoming manufacturing hubs for global automotive players. As a result of increasing prosperity in the emerging economies, people are increasingly able to afford their own car, particularly in emerging Asian economies such as China and India. In order to tap these rising consumer automobile preferences, leading global automotive players such as Volkswagen, BMW, Toyota, and Ford are entering into new emerging markets for business expansion. As the global auto-manufacturers continue to expand into growing and emerging markets, the demand for automotive exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) systems and others will also rise.
The OEMs, across the globe, are trying to reduce the emission of soot particles and nitrogen oxides for engines in order to achieve compliance with increasingly strict emissions regulations. If the fuel burn at a higher temperature inside the cylinder, little soot is produced but a large amount of nitrogen oxide is formed. At lower combustion temperatures, nitrogen oxide emissions are low but the production of soot particulates is high. Therefore, it is essential that all the key technologies that affect combustion, must be perfectly matched. The other way of reducing nitrogen oxide emissions is to use exhaust gas after treatment with an SCR catalytic converter (selective catalytic reduction). Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) is a process that simply adds a Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) into the exhaust gas stream and filters it through a catalyst. SCR technology uses less fuel since the engine is tuned to cut NOx and can instead be set up for performance and economy. Very low limits for both nitrogen oxide and diesel particulates can make use of such an SCR system necessary. Exhaust gas recirculation can reduce nitrogen oxide emissions by around 40 percent. Depending on the application, SCR systems remove up to 90 percent of the nitrogen oxide from exhaust gases. Thus, with particularly stringent emission standards, combination of exhaust gas recirculation and a SCR system is an upcoming trend. With both, EGR and SCR in place, engines can be fine-tuned for optimum fuel efficiency with greater reductions in emissions.

Stringent emission norms such as Euro VI have forced vehicle OEMs to employ high end after-treatment systems such as SCR, lean NOx traps (LNT) and exhaust gas recirculation (EGR). However, European OEMs such as Daimler, Volkswagen, PSA Peugeot Citroën and Renault Nissan are especially adopting SCR technology for larger segment engines. In small segment vehicles, OEMs are focussing to use combined SCR and diesel particular filter systems. Therefore, SCR technology is preferred to EGR, as it allows engine to operate at more optimal combustion temperature providing better power, fuel efficiency and lower NOx and particulate matter generation.
