MARIETTA, GA – October 28, 2026 – Some changes arrive gradually. Others redraw the shoreline almost overnight.
Author’s Tranquility Press is preparing to publish A Novel Read Into the New Shorelines of Climate Change, an autobiographical narrative by Ari Joshua Bouse that looks closely at grief, relationships, spirituality, trauma and the often-uncomfortable process of becoming someone new.
Despite its title, this is not a conventional book about climate science. Bouse uses the language of changing weather, tides, seasons and shorelines as part of a broader reflection on change itself. The landscape outside becomes a mirror for what can happen internally when relationships end, loss reshapes a family or an old way of living no longer feels possible.
The book moves between autobiographical reflections, poems, letters and meditative observations. Bouse writes candidly about childhood trauma, the loss of his mother to suicide, his own emotional growth, meditation, marriage, divorce and changing family relationships. Much of the collection grew from inner work during the pandemic, while the introduction, accompanying poems, letters and conclusion were written or completed during the summer of 2024, when his divorce from a 24-year marriage was finalized.
There is no attempt to make that transformation look neat. Loss and renewal frequently occupy the same space. So do uncertainty and possibility. At different points, Bouse turns to nature, mindfulness and spiritual reflection as ways of making sense of experiences that do not always offer easy answers.
That perspective is also informed by his professional life. Bouse is a licensed clinical social worker and writes about his work as a school social worker.
What emerges is less a prescription for handling change than a record of someone moving through it.
For readers who have experienced grief, watched an important relationship change or found themselves starting over, the book offers a deeply personal perspective on what it means to move forward when familiar parts of life fall away.
Some books explain change from a distance. A Novel Read Into the New Shorelines of Climate Change enters the water, following what it feels like to stand between a life that has changed and one that has yet to fully take shape.
A Novel Read Into the New Shorelines of Climate Change by Ari Joshua Bouse is now available on Amazon through Author’s Tranquility Press.
