Renie has taken her advocacy for mental health wellness to another level as the author of the Tides Beneath Unshattered Love: PARIS Series and volunteer and advocate for a reputable organization of her choice for Suicide Prevention Awareness, is urging as many people as possible to join the #MoreForMentalHealth campaign in celebration of Mental Health Awareness Month in May.

Mental health remains a subject that has continued to garner a lot of discussion over the years due to the undesirable increase in suicide cases and other related phenomena. Consequently, a plethora of initiatives has been put in place to help people in such situations and save more lives. In a related development, the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, 1-800-273-8255, has helped to de-escalate escalates the crises of tens of thousands of callers each day. However, starting from July 16, those in distress and their caregivers will be able to reach the Lifeline through a simple 3-digit number: 988. Therefore, calls, texts, and chats to the Lifeline’s network of crisis call centers are expected to increase due to the shorter number. Consequently, it is imperative for the federal government to work with states to ensure callers in distress have someone to call, someone to help, and a safe place to go. L.C. Renie and other forward-thinking individuals and organizations are calling on everyone to act now and help secure funding to equip call centers and community crisis response services throughout the country to ensure swift response to everyone in crisis.
