Jennifer Hartmann, USA Bestselling Author, launches her duet novels “An Optimist’s Guide to Heartbreak” and “A Pessimist’s Guide to Love” to rave reviews.

Chicago, IL, USA – December 26, 2022 – Recently picked up by Bloom Books, an imprint of Sourcebooks, Jennifer Hartmann is a contemporary romance author known for breaking hearts and piecing them back together. Her books delve deep into loss and life lessons, trauma and healing, and finding love in hopeless places. Set to be released on January 17, 2023, “An Optimist’s Guide to Heartbreak,” by Hartmann Media Group, LLC, is sure to reach bestselling again as it has all the hallmarks in place. Pre-orders for the eBook are now available. Later in the month, the second part of this duet series, “A Pessimist’s Guide to Love,” is set to release on January 31, 2023, and is also available for pre-order.

Hartmann says, “I was craving something fresh and light(er), a pivot from my usual tearjerker romances. The grumpy/sunshine trope is one of my favorites, so I thought of the titles first. Both books are a part of a series of romance novels. Then the story started piecing itself together.” According to Hartmann, “An Optimist’s Guide to Heartbreak” is a two-part story, with the second part titled “A Pessimist’s Guide to Love.” The book focuses on Lucy, our ray of a sunshine heroine who can’t seem to let go of two important people from her childhood. On a whim, she purchases the house that used to belong to her best friend, Emma, and Emma’s older brother, Cal. The bittersweet memories have her tracking Cal down almost a decade later and applying for a job at his auto repair shop. Cal has changed, though. He’s no longer the sweet, goofy boy next door… he’s gruff, built, tattooed, and wants nothing more than to forget the same past that Lucy is longing to reclaim.

“Readers who have been looking for something softer from me are in luck,” says Hartmann. “While there is a fair dose of angst and emotional conflict, this story definitely brings a lighter feel and is filled with steamy tension, two crazy Corgis and a squirrely kitten, a sunshine heroine and grumpy hero, and a handful of Rom-Com moments that hopefully put a smile on your face.”
