October 19, 2018 – Vista, CA – In an effort to raise awareness on working poverty, financial literacy and to empower women on having a healthy relationship to money, Leslie Inc. has launched the Women’s Financial Freedom Tour. Powered by Leslie Juvin-Acker, the author of the recently released finance psychology book called The Money Formula the national tour will feature multiple stops starting in San Diego County.
Beginning October 22 at the Vista Public Library with a special introduction by Mayor Judy Ritter, each tour stop will feature a salon-style event where business owners, financial experts, and professional women can gather and discuss their current issues on money, financial anxiety and stress. Women from all walks of life are encouraged to participate by joining an existing event or becoming “Community Organizers” by hosting a tour stop.
“I hope women gain a sense of camaraderie and confidence by participating in these events,” says Ana Gomez, VP of Business Development at Leslie Inc. and organizer of the tour “it’s so important we have these conversations about finance. Women are at the top of their game right now, yet so hugely unsupported by the financial industry. That will change as more conversations are had.”
“My mother was a child sex worker, we lived in working poverty, and I grew up in a Habitat For Humanity Home and realized that I carried limiting financial beliefs,” explains author Leslie Juvin-Acker, Chief Happiness Officer at Leslie Inc. “This tour is about giving back, and I feel fortunate that at this moment in my life, I can help others break free of financial anxiety. My hope is that people, especially women, change their relationship with money into a healthy one where they can make secure decisions about their future, because everyone deserves to be happy and financially secure.”
