The biggest problem for local businesses is usually maintaining a steady pipeline of leads without breaking the bank.
Austin Nash, the owner of Carolinas Web Design speaks on lead generation for local businesses including free strategies, concepts, and more.
Here’s what he had to say:
Without leads the business has nothing. Leads are sales, sales are cash flow. People need to get paid, businesses have overhead and burn rates.
The turning point in my business was when I said ok, I need to stop procrastinating and trying to make this or that look perfect. I need to stop looking at all these cool things I can do and focus on the main two things that matter.
Number 1, how am I going to consistently generate the largest volume of qualified leads, in the smallest time frame, with good profit margins.
Number 2, how am I going to position my business and team members to service these clients in the most time-efficient manner without compromising the quality of my product or service.
These two things are so important. I can not stress this enough. We want 100,000 people through the door, we want them to leave happy and come back. As a business owner, everyone’s trying to sell you something so it’s easy to get distracted from these two things.
You can have all the leads in the world, but if you don’t have the team members or system in place to service them, you’ll be backed up and stagnant. If you don’t have the leads, you don’t have any work to do in the first place.
Some of the tips I’m going to give you very well might put you in that position of needing more team members because that’s where my business is currently. That being said, I would advise you to think about the infrastructure and team members you have in place, not just your leads.
Now, on to the juicy lead gen tactics.
Facebook groups. Facebook groups. Oh, and Facebook groups. You should be in every business/yard sale Facebook group in your entire state that has 2-3k+ members. If you get in 100 groups, at an average of 4k members each, you have instant exposure to roughly 400k people in your market. 15 years ago that would cost you millions of dollars, today it’s free. Please do not take this for granted. There are so many people in these groups it is unreal. The opportunity here is huge.
The other big one is organic reach. The first thing people do when they need a product or service is google it. They want the best product at the best price. The higher your website comes up in those search results, the higher chance you have of getting their business. That’s exactly why we offer google SEO as a service, of course, this one isn’t free like the Facebook group posting we mentioned before but the results are exponential. A big factor in these results is the presence of buyer intent, people that see your post on Facebook aren’t necessarily looking for your service at that moment. However, with Google, these people are ready to buy and need your product or service now. This will always translate into an easier sale, which is why it isn’t cheap.
These two tactics are phenomenal for local businesses, an honorable mention would be Facebook ads but those are extremely advanced with a steep learning curve. This is a service we offer, but it’s geared specifically toward certain types of businesses. It can work for everyone, but there are certain business models that work better than others with that specific type of advertising and offer.
Once again my name is Austin Nash, thank you all for reading. I hope you either take action on these lead generation strategies yourself or contact us and have us take care of them for you.
