Association of Nature and Forest Therapy (ANFT) Concludes Successful Four-Day Guide-Trainer Conference
The Association of Nature and Forest Therapy (ANFT) recently held a successful four-day guide-trainer conference in Costa Rica for its core training team and office staff. Led by ANFT founder M. Amos Clifford, the conference focused on making crucial changes and updates to the organization’s training programs.

Prescott, AZ – The ANFT guide-trainer conference in Costa Rica concluded on March 2, 2023, with a resounding success. ANFT’s core training team and office staff were present to collaborate on crucial changes and updates aimed at keeping the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy as one of the most recognized guide training companies globally.

“We are thrilled with the success of our guide-trainer conference,” said Amos Clifford, Founder of ANFT. “It’s always exciting to come together with our team and collaborate on ways to improve our training programs and meet the needs of our clients. We are also excited to announce our new programs, which will provide more opportunities for people to experience the benefits of forest bathing“.

Founder M. Amos Clifford led several sessions, including “The Heart of A Guide” and “Leaning into Edges for Growth,” attended by trainers and ANFT staff. Among the most notable events was Amos Clifford’s guidance in a nature and forest bathing experience on the beach and in the shallow parts of the ocean.

Costa Rica is known for its beautiful white-sand beaches and tropical rainforests. Guide training in Costa Rica provided Clifford and the guide-trainers a unique opportunity to use therapeutic techniques associated with forest bathing in a tropical beach environment.

As stated in his well-known book “Your Guide to Forest Bathing,” Clifford guided the group to immerse their senses in the unique qualities of the fluid, oceanic ambiance of the woodlands. They experienced what he said in his book in a literal way, confirming that ANFT’s guided forest bathing experiences work well in diverse natural environments. In short, you don’t need to be surrounded by trees to experience the benefits of forest therapy.

Forest therapy originates from the Japanese practice of forest bathing, or shinrin-yoku in Japanese. Studies have shown a wide range of health advantages, particularly in the cardiovascular and immunological systems. It can also help stabilize and boost mood and cognition. Forest therapy builds on those advantages and looks ahead to what occurs when people realize that we are a part of nature, not apart from it, and are fundamentally linked to all other species. This realization can help people zoom out and promote a feeling of connectedness with the environment.

The ANFT team brainstormed on improving its signature guide-training certification program and meeting the market demands for more training and experience options. The team is proud to announce two new programs to be rolled out later this year – a 2-Day Forest Bathing Retreat experience for the general public and a 4-week Introduction to Forest Bathing online course.

ANFT continues to be a leading organization in the field of nature and forest therapy, providing expert training and experiences for guides and enthusiasts alike. To learn more about the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy, visit their website at https://www.natureandforesttherapy.earth.
