Announcing Philosopher Timothy Morton PhD, Oscar Winner Ari Gold, Emmy Winner Brian Beacock and CEO Alison Dollar to lineup for June 16-17 2018 New Media Film Festival

The New Media Film Festival will hold its ninth annual edition in Los Angeles on the weekend of June 16th and 17th in Los Angeles. Hailed for making “the cutting edge accessible,” by the Huffington Post, it showcases the quickly evolving world of new media with sections dedicated to AR, AI, VR, work produced on drones and mobile phones, as well as pilots and features. The competitions are judged by industry leaders from HBO, Marvel, and Arpix Media with $45,000 of awards at stake. The festival slate includes 110 films from 40 countries, including 36 world – 7 US – 24 Los Angeles premieres.

Besides envisioning the future of media, the festival also examines the future of the world itself with its opening night film, Living in the Future’s Past. Directed by Susan Kucera and co-producer/host Oscar-winner Jeff Bridges, this documentary examines who we are and the environmental challenges we face in terms of entropy, dark ecology, and what some call “the end of nature.” Bridges is recipient of the 2018 Social Responsible Conservationist Award.

Announcing Philosopher Timothy Morton PhD will be sharing his wisdom and thoughts on the collaboration with Jeff Bridges and Director Susan Kucera of Living in Future’s Past.

Other Luminaries that has confirmed to participate are Oscar Winner Ari Gold to represent the trailer for his newest feature, The Song of Sway Lake.

Emmy Winner Brian Beacock will host the Q & A of the filmmakers in attendance for Sunday June 17, 2018 New Media 7 session.

CEO Alison Dollar of ITV Alliance will host the Q & A of the filmmakers in attendance for Sunday June 17, 2018 New Media 6 session.
