Mumbai, IN – January 6, 2017 – Following his passion of bike riding and an objective to achieve something remarkable, Yogesh Chavan sets out on this record breaking journey with full enthusiasm and dedication on October 20, 2016. The target was to cover a distance of 9,500 km on a motorcycle. The journey route spans dozens of Indian states and also includes the territories of two neighboring countries, Nepal and Bhutan. It was a huge challenge, and Yogesh was determined to go on this adventurous journey, all alone and without support from any sponsor.

Yogesh has a significant experience of motorcycle riding and already accomplished several motorcycle expeditions, including the 3706kms Long Fastest East to West India Motorcycle Tour, concluded recently. For this trip, he selected Mahindra MOJO as his body is well adapted to this bike. However, with a few upgrades, like the addition of the GPS device, the bike was made ready to set out for an epic journey. Besides, Yogesh prepared himself physically to overcome the difficulties of this tough and adventurous journey. The expedition required that he would ride for a longer time, eat less, drink more and overcome the physical stress in just a few hours of sleep.

The journey starts on October 20, 2016 from Malad, Mumbai in the wee hours, and by evening he had already crossed Hyderabad. He halted at Mallepally in Telangana for food and stay at night. Next day, early morning, he sets out to reach Kolkata till the end of the day. Yogesh was riding at a full speed to reach the destination, but his journey met a sudden interruption, since the chain of his bike broke down on the way. It took 5-6 hours to repair the bike and the journey was forced to stop unexpectedly for the day.

On the third day, Yogesh starts his journey with an objective to cover a larger distance to make up the yesterday’s distance loss. He drove his bike at a speed of 70-80km per hour and managed to reach Kolkata by 11pm. The next two days were spent in Kolkata in repairing the bike, visiting some local attractions and visiting a friend. The 6th day the journey begins again at 4am, and reached Siliguri around 5-5.30pm. The plan was to enter Nepal the next day, and after completing all formalities, the adventurous biker sets out for Kathmandu. After a mesmerizing trip through a series of beautiful landscapes, full of pulsating natural attractions, he reaches the capital of Nepal around 10pm. The next day, he spent some time exploring Kathmandu and enjoyed the local delicacies.

The next day, on 28th October, Yogesh gets up early and plans to return back to India. He reaches Siliguri around 6pm and reaches the Mahindra service center for regular servicing of his bike and stays at Siliguri in the night. The next day morning, he starts for the Bhutan border, which is hardly 150km away from Siliguri.  By 6.30pm he reaches Phuentsholing, Bhutan. Now, Yogesh was on the 11th day of his journey, and the next destination was Arunachal Pradesh. And after a breathtaking journey of several hundred kilometers, he reaches Guwahati around 12.30pm, and instead of taking rest, he decides to visit Kaziranga and enjoy its natural beauty at night.

On the 12th day, Yogesh reaches the Arunachal border around 3pm and initiates the process of securing the Innerline Permit, which is required to enter Arunachal Pradesh. The next day on 1st November, after a brief exploration of Arunachal Pradesh, he plans to return to Guwahati to complete the next part of the journey. Now, after an exciting journey of the eastern part of the country and also Nepal and Bhutan, the time was to return back to the original point of the tour. On the 14th day, after a long journey he reaches Gopalganj in Bihar at 11pm and stays there at night.

On 3rd of November, the journey starts at 6am and crossing Patna, Ayodhya, Lucknow and several other cities and towns, he reaches Kanpur at 8pm. But without resting, he starts again and reaches Jhansi around 12.30am. On the 16th day, he wakes up early and hits the road at a great speed and reaches Koteshwar in Gujarat at 1.00am to cover the fastest east-west journey between Tezu (Arunachal Pradesh) and Koteshwar in a record time.

The next day was the final day of this epic journey and Yogesh reached Mumbai at 7.30 pm to complete his biking adventure.
