Amidst World Pandemic An African-American Woman opens World's First Flat-Rate Thrift Store.
Droppinshop is the only store for women’s apparel that offers free apparel shopping after a flat-rate purchase of a bag, which has never been tried before in the apparel business.

Today, An African-American Woman makes history in Ohio town as the first businesswoman of color with innovative flat-rate Thrift Store-Droppinshop. The new store fully launched amid the world Pandemic allows customers to get their desired apparel for free; all they simply need to do is purchase the containing bag at a flat fee.

According to research conducted, consumer spending has been generally on the downside due to the economic effect culminated by the coronavirus pandemic that has ravaged the world. Thus, people are always looking to buy products at discount prices. Having realized this,  Carthon founded Droppinshop as an inspiration to not only help shoppers gain a new wardrobe but pay it forward by giving less fortunate at-risk youths the ability to shop in her store for free.

Technically, everything in Droppinshop is “Free.” The only thing a customer has to do is purchase the bag. The bags comes in three sizes: [small: $14.99] [medium: $24.99] and [large: $44.99]. Customers are able to browse the store for what they want first, then select the bag that will hold all of their new clothes at the register. “When a customer comes in and start shopping, we close the door and allow them to browse privately,” said shop owner Sherita Carthon.

Shop owner, Sherita Carthon is an African-American Woman that presently resides in Ohio. When her missionary parents were heading to Africa with her and her twin sister, their Visa got lost, making them live in a church Sunday school room for 2 years. Carthon and her twin sister have to help sort out and put up items for the clothing pantry as payment for living in the church. The idea of a flat-rate thrift came up during this time. However, the pandemic presented the perfect timing for the idea to come to fruition.

Droppinshop is comfortably situated with a swanky lounge where guests can enjoy tea, coffee, and treats while listening to soft music. A portion of proceeds received from sales will also be used to support The American Cancer Association and The Lupus Foundation of America. Droppinshop is opened from 11 am to 5 pm between Thursday- Saturday and by appointment.
