It allows the fuel to pass to the auxiliary power unit (APU) and propulsion system. These devices are designed, developed, and certified under the Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR) guidelines.
Fuel systems largely depend on the size and complexity of the aircraft. The mechanisms that allow flow of fuel from storage tanks to the engine are gravity feed system, pump feed system and fuel injection system.
