Leading African-American-owned film distribution company, Urban Home Entertainment, announces the release of the acclaimed film aptly titled “GoodBi” on the free streaming platform Tubi.
Devised by director and producer D.A. Jackson, the surreal and shockingly grotesque independent film grips its audience with a rollercoaster of thrills and paranoia. “GoodBi something like I’ve never seen before, and it had me on edge throughout.” – says Barrett Dungy, founder and CEO of Urban Home Entertainment.
GoodBi chronicles the tale of Beth, an aspiring nursing student struggling to hold her grip on reality. After a disturbing incident in a gas station bathroom, Beth begins to be tormented by unknown assailants at every turn that is all out for her blood. As she struggles to find out what is real and what is in her head, she must fight to stay alive and to keep her sanity. The project is an amazing one, offering an unimaginable plot yet a relatable story that will have viewers on the edge of their seat from start to finish.
The move by UHE to distribute the film is in line with the company’s goal of giving independent filmmakers the opportunity to access the widest audience possible. Especially after the release of films like Jordan Peele’s GET OUT and NOPE, which broke box office records, black horror is on the rise. GoodBi is a good representative of a new trend of young and talented filmmakers breaking out into a genre that has had very little recognition for diversity until recently.
