Phoenix, AZ – August 4, 2025 – ACRES (Archwood Community Resource Empowerment Strategy), a Black-led nonprofit committed to building an inclusive economy in Phoenix, has officially launched Legacy in Motion—a community-driven campaign to spotlight the transformational power of Black entrepreneurship.
ACRES, widely known for its quarterly Buy Black Marketplace, youth accelerator, and the Billion Dollar Brand programs, is continuing its mission to empower local entrepreneurs through expanded educational programming, collaborative events, and creative infrastructure that supports sustainable growth.
“Black entrepreneurs are the fastest-growing group in the country, yet remain systemically under-resourced,” said Kolbey Gardner, consultant to the ACRES team. “Legacy in Motion is about shining a light on the people, stories, and innovations that have always driven our community forward.”
The campaign will be amplified through a series of community activations throughout August and September, including:
Coffee & Connect: Black Business Month Edition
Spotlight features on local entrepreneurs
A cultural celebration on September 13th to uplift ACRES’ ongoing work and community partnerships
