A Very South Bay Xmas is bringing their ‘Live Music & Fundraising Event’ back for round two – all in support of the the Love Like Lexi Foundation

THE SECOND ANNUAL ‘A VERY SOUTH BAY XMAS’ IS HERE!

Instead of releasing another Christmas album of her own, South Bay local, Meghan Mahowald founded AVSBX in hopes to highlight the South Bay talent and give back to her community. She brought on Mack Ogden, Rob Nagelhout and Chris Davis last year to help put on the first event and this year, the whole crew is thrilled to be joined by Casey Elliott from Lomita Alehouse.

After selling out last year’s event, the team at A Very South Bay Xmas is prepping for an even bigger party this year in hopes of raising as much money for Love Like Lexi as possible.

“We feel that research into alternative therapies to chemo for kids that are non-toxic is about as important as it gets and we are honored to be raising money for this cause through music and some serious holiday cheer. This event has become my favorite day of the year and I’m so excited to share our second event with our community – we hope you join us for this special day!” – Meghan Mahowald (MEGG, Founder, Creator, Producer).

WHAT: A Very South Bay Xmas is a compilation Christmas album featuring original Holiday music from various artists paired with a live release show, with 100% of album and ticket sales being donated to the Love Like Lexi Foundation. The Love Like Lexi foundation supports the promising research of Child Oncologist, Dr. Shahab Asgharzadeh, a physician scientist and the principal investigator of the Asgharzadeh Laboratory at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. The album driving the fundraiser will feature artists whose genres range from punk, country, pop to alternative with the purpose of coming together to raise money for a great cause!

WHY: Love Like Lexi is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization established in loving memory of Lexi Lee Walker, who since infancy, fought a three-year battle against cancer. After Lexi passed in May 2021, her family was inspired to start the foundation to keep her memory and legacy alive and to spread the love, inspiration, and breakthrough that Lexi embodied in her three short years on this earth. The Walker’s were a part of the South Bay Community, and the organizers of A Very South Bay Xmas wanted to give back by supporting this foundation through the event.
