A Journey Through Memory, Longing, and the Meaning of Home: Miguel Wandenbergh Releases Nostalgy
Nostalgy by Miguel Wandenbergh

What draws us back to the places we once called home? Is it the landscape itself—or the memories we carry with us?

In Nostalgy, acclaimed translator and multilingual author Miguel Wandenbergh delivers an intimate and reflective contemporary novel that explores the powerful pull of memory and the enduring search for belonging. Rich with emotional insight and quiet beauty, the novel invites readers to consider how the past shapes identity and whether returning home can ever truly restore what has been lost.

The story follows a man who returns to the places that defined his youth, hoping to reconnect with the people, experiences, and emotions that once gave his life meaning. As familiar landscapes awaken long-forgotten memories, he finds himself confronting unresolved relationships, difficult truths, and the realization that time transforms not only places but also the people who remember them. With lyrical prose and thoughtful reflection, Nostalgy examines the delicate balance between remembrance and reality, revealing how memory can comfort, deceive, and ultimately guide us toward acceptance.

At its heart, Nostalgy offers a nuanced look at nostalgia itself. Rather than simply celebrating the past, the novel recognizes nostalgia as both a gift and a trap—one that softens painful memories, magnifies moments of happiness, and tempts us to believe that yesterday was simpler than it truly was. The result is a moving meditation on identity, personal history, and the universal desire to understand where we belong.

Early praise captures the novel’s spirit perfectly:

“Beautiful evocative novel about nostalgia, memories, and the desire to go home again.”Julie Porter
