The scholarship is aimed at informing the general public on the sign and symptoms of elder abuse and neglect in the society and ways of stopping the dreadful act in the society. The company is using this medium to invite the general public to submit their entry to win a sum of $500 scholarship.
Elder abuse and neglect in Los Angeles is one of the problems facing the society today and it shows itself in almost every day to day activities. The types according to research are physical and emotional abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, and fraud. The Peck Law believes creating a concrete awareness in the society is one of the ways out of the dangers imposed by this ever growing problem. The signs and symptoms to mention but few include dehydration, malnourishment, sores, bruises, sexually transmitted diseases etc.
The organization feels that a creative graphical representation of the signs and symptoms of the elder abuse and neglect will help to sensitize the society about the dreadful menace and this is why the scholarship is put in place for creative minded individuals. The scholarship is opened to anyone that has been accepted to a college/trade school or students enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in the United States. The application process is open now through June 1, 2017, through December 29, 2017. The winner will be chosen by a panel of judges based on the quality of their infographics and will be announced on January 29, 2018.
