Young producer D’Ante Kareem Adkins is starting to be noticed by the larger audience as the fame of his musical talents continues to grow. At the raw age of 20, this New Jersey-based musician has worked alongside some of the big names in the industry and has more projects in the works.
People realized his potential back in church when he played for the choir at the age of 12. D’Ante discovered a passion for music that began to grow with each passing year. He first began experimenting with beats and melody when he got his first laptop in 2018. It wasn’t long before D’Ante signed his first deal on Leah Jenea‘s 2020 album, Crooked Love Story, where he launched multiple songs, including the first track “Fed Up”, followed by “Pulse”, “Melody”, “Lie There”, and “The End”.
D’Ante Adkins was born in Newark, New Jersey on December 9th, 2000. Today, D’Ante is known by his stage name, Turn Up Tobi. He accredits this title to his little sister Nye’La as she chanted one day, “TURN UP TOBI!”.
D’Ante also recognizes fellow New Jersey producer and CEO of MPOWER RECORDS, Misael Sanchez, as his inspiration for creating music. Through his mentorship, his creativity flourished, and his understanding of the nuances of the music industry grew.
“I try to collaborate with new artists so people can hear my music as much as possible. I go to Instagram and look for fresh artists who would like to work with me. I believe that once a person sets a goal and starts planning to achieve it, nothing can stop them. But you need to have a plan”, says musician and producer, Turn Up Tobi.
In the recent past, Turn Up Tobi has teamed up with Dev. G and AP_PoetiX on ‘Jerzey Love’. He continues to work hard to deliver the best music to his fans.
