A delegation of 126 enterprises from Hangzhou, capital of East China’s Zhejiang province, traveled to Dubai, the United Arab Emirates to attend an exhibition on Dec 15, local media outlets reported.

The exhibition, which will take place from Dec 19 to 21, is organized by the Hangzhou municipal government and is part of the Overseas Hangzhou campaign. The event is also the largest of its kind held by a Chinese city overseas.

The exhibition, which will measure over 30,000 square meters, is expected to feature over 1,100 enterprises from 30 Chinese cities. A total of 126 Hangzhou-based enterprises will be present at the event.

Four public servants from the Hangzhou bureau of commerce will accompany enterprises from the city and provide assistance.

The Overseas Hangzhou promotional campaign reflects the city’s determination to enhance its international influence and help its companies expand into overseas markets.

Hangzhou is expected to organize 3,000 enterprises for overseas market exploration in 2023 and generate deals worth more than 100 billion yuan ($14.34 billion). Authorities have planned for 30 business trips to take place in the first quarter and 308 enterprises have already applied.
