Kimberly McLemore is a seasoned author, speaker, and host of a podcast show. She has always dedicated herself to empowering others regardless of their age or gender. The Bachelors of Arts holder in Organizational Management with a minor in Public Administration, as part of her goals of empowering others, especially the feminine folks, founded an online movement, Women’s Small Business Initiative (WSBI), LLC to help women in business and provide the necessary support for their growth.
Over the years, women have been somewhat sidelined to the back seat despite calls to empower them and put them in their rightful position. Kimberly has more than a decade of experience as a small business owner. She also has a combined 25 years’ experience in both the private sector and public sectors in the area of Project Management, as a Senior Consultant and as a Management Analyst.
Inspired by her experience and accomplishments, Kimberly has dedicated herself to supporting other women in achieving their dreams of becoming small business owners. This led to Kimberly developing an online platform that allows women across the globe to learn about small business development, while also allowing them to share their experiences with one another.
One of the major components of the WSBI platform is the podcast show titled “Your Resource for Success.” The podcast offers women the opportunity to share their experience, challenges, and triumphs, as they journey to successful entrepreneurship. The podcast provides qualitative hints and business tips through informative and thought-provoking one-on-one interviews with successful businesswomen. The show is aired weekly on iHeart Radio, an online nationwide radio network.
The other pillar of the platform is a free online membership-based mentorship program for women, organized through the WSBI. The initiative is designed to be a “one-stop” shop for all necessary resources and tools to enhance and showcase small businesses. The program offers consultation, mentorship, and networking opportunities to members nationwide and across the globe. Both components are free to any woman business owner.
Kimberly is also a renowned author, with two books to her name. She is the author of “How to Be a Success by Just Being You” and “Memoir Deception of the Heart: A Real Look into Domestic Violence.”
Kimberly has organized several book reading and signing events in recent times, and she continues to share her revealing story of domestic violence to private groups and organizations, in efforts to teach and empower women to be their own hero and not just a survivor.
She is scheduled to do book readings, signings and participate in several networking events in March 2018. Plans are also on the way for a seven-city book signing tour, “Love Should Not Hurt,” scheduled to place in the Fall of 2018.
Kimberly is a native of Davenport, IA. As a resident of the Quad Cities, she founded and managed two small businesses – Berka Consulting and Kid’s Day Preschool. She also co-founded and performed as the Director of the Hilltop Consulting Group.
Kimberly was also a member of several business associations, featuring in the Quad City Business Journal for Young Professionals Under 40 years old, and has received several awards for her outstanding performances from the Davenport, Iowa business community.
Kimberly currently resides in Alexandria, Virginia.
