WATERLOO, ON – SEPTEMBER 16, 2026 – Bridge Street Veterinary Hospital is pleased to announce a new chapter for the long-established Waterloo veterinary hospital, welcoming Dr. Rebecca Brill as its new owner and continuing its commitment to personalized, high-quality veterinary care for pets and their families throughout Waterloo Region.

Dr. Rebecca joins Bridge Street with more than a decade of experience in veterinary medicine and a strong connection to the local community. She graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2013 and has spent her career providing compassionate, high-quality care to dogs, cats, and their families.

Affectionately known as “Dr. Brilliant,” Dr. Rebecca Brill is known for her warm, informative, and gentle approach to veterinary medicine. Her lifelong love of animals began growing up around horses and continues to shape the way she approaches every patient.

“Sometimes the most important part of an appointment is simply giving a pet the time they need to feel safe,” says Dr. Rebecca. “I want every pet and every family who comes through our doors to feel heard, respected, and cared for.”

Clients will often find Dr. Rebecca sitting on the floor with a nervous patient, taking the extra time to earn their trust and help them feel comfortable. She has particular interests in surgery and dentistry and places a strong emphasis on educating pet owners and building lasting relationships with patients and their families.

Before joining Bridge Street Veterinary Hospital, Dr. Rebecca successfully owned and operated a veterinary practice outside the region. She is excited to bring that experience back to her own community in Waterloo and Kitchener.

Cat Friendly certification recognizes practices that have taken additional steps to accommodate the unique needs of feline patients, from their environment to handling techniques.

AAHA accreditation is a rigorous voluntary evaluation of veterinary hospitals covering areas including patient care, safety, medical standards, equipment, and hospital operations. At the same time, the hospital is investing in new processes, technology, and communication tools designed to make veterinary care more convenient and transparent. Bridge Street is also expanding its in-house capabilities, allowing more procedures and diagnostics to be performed within the hospital. The goal is to provide clients with faster answers and more complete care while reducing the need for referrals when appropriate.

The hospital’s New Pet Special is available to both new and existing clients. Puppies and kittens can receive wellness visits for $99 per visit through their core vaccine series, typically three visits, with core vaccines due at each visit included. The hospital has also introduced its Healthy Smiles Club, designed to encourage proactive dental care for pets. Clients who complete a full dental cleaning at Bridge Street Veterinary Hospital receive 20% off future dental cleanings for life. Bridge Street has also introduced Trupanion VetDirect Pay™ for clients with eligible Trupanion pet insurance. Rather than paying an entire eligible veterinary invoice upfront and waiting for reimbursement, Trupanion can pay its covered portion directly to Bridge Street Veterinary Hospital once an eligible claim is processed.
