What is SURFACE DEACTIVATOR?
SURFACEDEACTIVATOR is a surface treatment agent specifically designed to passivate concrete surfaces, allowing the aggregate to be exposed for decorative purposes. It is widely used in gravel polymer flooring, sand-washed flooring, exposed aggregate flooring, water-washed stone flooring, water-washed stone walls, and permeable exposed aggregate flooring.
In simple terms, when the underlying concrete has reached sufficient hardness, the surface passivation agent prevents the surface cement paste from hardening prematurely, allowing it to be washed away to the desired depth, revealing the natural texture of the aggregate beneath.

Construction Process
Step 1 Preparation
A sprayer is all you need. Stir the passivation agent thoroughly before use. The standard application rate is 0.2-0.25 kg/m², depending on the sprayer type, concrete texture, and surface smoothness.
Step 2 Concrete Inspection
After the concrete surface is finished, spraying should be done before final setting. The indicator: touch the concrete surface — if it doesn’t stick to your hand, it’s ready.
Step 3 Spraying
Pour the SURFACE DEACTIVATOR into the sprayer or container. Keep the nozzle 30-60 cm from the working surface. Spray evenly from left to right until the agent color completely covers the original concrete color.
Step 4 Cleaning the Slurry
After the SURFACE DEACTIVATOR has taken effect (approximately 10-18 hours in summer, 12-20 hours in winter), use a soft brush to start scrubbing the cement paste from the concrete surface. Progress through soft brush → hard brush → floor scrubbing machine, all while using running water and a high-pressure washer to rinse the slurry away from the work area.
