Lyon, France – April 27, 2026 – Acclaimed creative visionary James Weis makes a striking literary debut with Sixty Hours ’til Sunset. This richly layered, multi-era novel explores the fragile intersections of time, memory, and human connection.
About the Book:
Sixty Hours ’til Sunset, set in Paris in 2043, opens with a deeply personal and urgent request. Journalist TJ is asked to help his partner, Henry’s nearly hundred-year-old grandfather, Mackey McGill, recount the story of his life during the final three days before he chooses to end it on his own terms. More than a simple recollection, the novel offers a poignant portrait of a life shaped by love, ambition, secrets, and regret.
As Mackey begins to speak, the story moves back to his early years in Whippoorwill Creek, where charm and privilege hide deeper layers beneath the surface. A turning point comes when he meets the mysterious Dink Westergaard, whose quiet strength changes his world and sets him on a much more complicated path. From there, the novel stretches across decades and places, including small-town America, Paris, Munich, New York, Los Angeles, and Milan, exploring high society and the personal struggles that shape a life.
Through themes of identity, family conflict, loss, reinvention, and the weight of unresolved truths, Weis masterfully interweaves past and present. The structure returns again and again to the ticking clock in Paris, where each moment carries the urgency of what remains unsaid. The result is a powerful literary drama that blends the intimacy of a final confession with the sweeping scope of a lifetime journey.
At its heart, Sixty Hours ’til Sunset is a story about what we carry with us and what we leave behind.
