Ertiqah Introduces Contextli, a Privacy-First Voice Dictation Tool That Transforms Speech Into Ready-to-Send Communication

Ertiqah has announced the launch of Contextli, a voice dictation platform designed for the AI era that replaces traditional word-for-word transcription with real-time, context-aware transformation.

While most dictation software simply converts speech into raw text, Contextli formats spoken input into ready-to-use communication automatically, based on where the content will be used. The platform allows users to speak naturally and receive structured, professional output for emails, Slack messages, LinkedIn posts, documentation, and other formats without manual editing.

According to Ertiqah, existing dictation tools were built before artificial intelligence became widely accessible and still rely on basic transcription. This often results in text that requires significant editing. Users may save time by speaking, but then lose it correcting grammar, tone, and formatting.

Contextli takes a different approach by focusing on transformation rather than transcription. Users define their preferred tone, structure, and writing style once for each communication type, known as “Contexts.” After pressing a hotkey, they speak for 10 to 20 seconds and receive a fully formatted output that is ready to use immediately.

“Traditional dictation gives you a transcript. Contextli gives you a finished product,” said Junaid Khalid, Founder of Ertiqah. “A psychiatrist speaks their session observations and gets clinical notes formatted for their EHR. A support agent describes an issue and gets a response ready to send. The transformation rules are entirely customizable. If you can describe how you want your output to look, Contextli produces it. That’s not transcription. That’s a new category.”

A New Model for AI-Powered Communication

Ertiqah states that the goal of Contextli is to remove the friction that has limited adoption of both dictation tools and AI writing assistants. While speech averages 250 words per minute and typing averages 50, the time saved through dictation is often lost to post-editing.

The company also highlights the complexity of using generative AI tools for routine communication. A simple task such as writing an email can require opening a template, copying content, switching applications, pasting, editing, copying again, and pasting into the final destination. Contextli compresses this workflow into a single action: press a hotkey, speak, and continue working.

“The problem isn’t AI quality. The problem is the seven-step workflow around using it. We removed six steps,” Khalid said.

Designed With Privacy as a Core Requirement

Contextli was built with a privacy-first architecture that includes a fully local, offline mode. Voice processing runs entirely on the user’s device through Whisper, ensuring that no data is sent to the cloud.

This feature is designed for professionals in law, healthcare, finance, and government sectors who operate under strict data protection requirements.

“For lawyers, healthcare workers, and anyone under NDA; ’encrypted’ and ‘secure’ aren’t enough. They need ‘never leaves my machine.’ That’s what we built. Disconnect your internet. It still works,” Khalid said.

Who Contextli Is For

Ertiqah positions Contextli for three primary groups:

  • Professionals with strict privacy requirements
  • High-volume communicators who manage large message volumes daily
  • Knowledge workers who spend multiple hours typing repetitive content

By eliminating editing and workflow friction, the company states that Contextli allows users to communicate and document up to three times faster than traditional typing.

How the Platform Works

Users begin by creating Contexts that store their formatting preferences. Each Context is assigned a global keyboard shortcut. When the hotkey is pressed, the user speaks naturally for several seconds, and the system inserts formatted text directly at the cursor location. No context switching.

Each Context can hold up to 20,000 characters of prompt/instructions, allowing for industry-specific terminology, compliance requirements, and personal writing styles.

Examples include psychiatrists dictating clinical notes formatted for EHR systems and lawyers speaking case notes that are converted into client-ready summaries.

“Dictation tools help you write faster. AI helps you turn raw thoughts into polished output faster. Contextli combines them both to help you work 5x faster,” Khalid added.
