Businessnet Launches AgentWebhook as Alternative to Tunneling Tools for Webhook Delivery

Businessnet has launched AgentWebhook, a webhook relay platform that removes the need for tunnels or public endpoints when receiving webhooks. The service allows developers to pull events securely from a relay instead of exposing internal systems.

New webhook relay allows developers to receive events without tunnels or public endpoints

Businessnet today announced the launch of AgentWebhook, a webhook relay platform designed to remove the need for tunnels, reverse proxies, or publicly exposed endpoints when receiving webhook events.

Developers commonly rely on tunneling tools to expose local services to the internet during development or integration work. While widely used, these tools can introduce reliability, cost, and security concerns when used in production environments.

AgentWebhook offers a different approach. Instead of requiring a publicly accessible endpoint, the service receives webhook events on behalf of the developer and stores them until the client retrieves them through an outbound request using a command-line interface or API.

The pull-based architecture allows developers to work with webhooks without opening firewall ports or exposing internal systems. This approach is particularly useful in local development environments, enterprise networks, and private infrastructure where inbound connections are restricted.

“Developers have spent years relying on tunnels just to receive webhook events,” said Ben Simkin, CEO of Businessnet. “It works for quick testing, but it’s not how modern infrastructure should operate. AgentWebhook replaces that pattern with a relay model where developers pull events when they’re ready, without exposing their systems.”

Webhook events from providers such as Stripe, GitHub, Slack, or other services can be directed to a secure ingest endpoint. From there, developers retrieve the events through the AgentWebhook dashboard, CLI, or API, allowing them to process events within private environments.

The platform also provides tools for inspecting payloads, monitoring delivery status, and replaying events when needed. Built-in retry logic and queueing help prevent data loss during downtime, allowing events to be processed after systems return online.

The launch comes as demand grows for tools that simplify webhook integration while maintaining security and reliability. Industry analysis estimates the global webhook relay and related developer infrastructure market at approximately $352 million, driven by expanding use of integrations, automation tools, and developer workflows.

AgentWebhook is available globally beginning today. Developers can create webhook sources and begin receiving events through the platform at: https://app.agentwebhook.com
