Ulite’s Day 1 at HK International Lighting Fair 2025

The 2025 Autumn Hong Kong International Lighting Fair is officially underway, and Ulite is diving into this edition with a spirit of bold reinvention. As a familiar face at this premier lighting event (and marking our second participation this year), we’ve chosen 2025 to rewrite how we show up—with a self-constructed booth that bears the marks of our ambition (and a few learning curves), and a new geometric collection that’s a love letter to cross-cultural design. A Booth That Speaks to Our Growth This time, we rolled up our sleeves and built our booth from the ground up. It’s not without its quirks—there’s a shelf that’s almost level, wiring that’s pragmatic more than polished, and a backdrop that took three attempts to get just right. But these “flaws” aren’t mistakes—they’re badges of a team that chose to learn by doing. Every uneven edge and unplanned adjustment tells a story of ownership, curiosity, and the kind of hands-on passion that defines Ulite’s approach to lighting. And when our new collection shines against this backdrop? Those late-night build sessions feel like pure magic.

  • Geometry Redefined: Our Filipino Designer’s Fusion of Form and Warmth

At the core of our showcase is the new Geometric Collection, the brainchild of our designer, Philip. Philip’s vision is a masterclass in balance: sleek black metal fixtures (think angular pendants and sculptural wall sconces) deliver industrial-chic drama, while deep brown and light wood accents (seen in floor lamps and table lamps) infuse organic warmth. White and light coffee fabric lampshades bridge the two, softening light into a glow that feels both cutting-edge and inviting. The color story is deliberate, too. A deep purple wall acts as a bold canvas, while dark brown and black elements tie everything together. It’s geometry with soul—a design language that works just as well in a minimalist urban loft as it does in a cozy family home.

Day 1 Highlights: Connections and “That’s So Ulite” Reactions

  • The first day was a flurry of conversations with architects, interior designers, and lighting enthusiasts who were drawn to the collection’s bold shapes and the booth’s unapologetic authenticity. This feels like Ulite coming into its own—bold, a little raw, but totally compelling.

That’s exactly the energy we’re going for. We’re not here to be perfect—we’re here to be unapologetically us. To prove that lighting can be more than a functional necessity; it can be a statement of identity, creativity, and the courage to try something new.

What’s Next?

  • Day one is done, but the fair has three more days to go. We’re eager to keep sharing Philip’s geometric universe, diving into the stories behind each piece, and yes—talking about the lessons we’re learning from building our own booth. If you’re at the fair, come find us (Booth: 3B-D29) to experience the collection in person. If you’re following along from afar, stay tuned to our channels for more updates, stories, and behind-the-scenes moments.

Here’s to a fair full of daring design, genuine connections, and the kind of growth that only comes from stepping outside your comfort zone. See you tomorrow—same booth, same passion, same commitment to lighting that’s unafraid to be different.
