Caremark Cambridge & South Cambridgeshire Launches Major Recruitment & Training Initiative to Strengthen Homecare Team

Caremark Cambridge & South Cambridgeshire Launches Major Recruitment & Training Initiative to Strengthen Homecare Team
“Caremark offers a truly local, people-centred service,” says Caremark Cambridge Registered Manager Jasmine Parnham. “We want our workforce to reflect the communities we serve. Our new recruitment push is not just about filling vacancies — it’s about bringing in people who share our values, offering career development, and delivering lasting, high-quality care.”
Caremark Cambridge & South Cambridgeshire is pleased to announce the launch of an enhanced recruitment and training programme designed to attract new care staff and deliver even higher quality, compassionate homecare across the region. This initiative underscores Caremark’s commitment to delivering safe, personalised care and empowering local people with fulfilling employment opportunities.

Recruitment drive to meet increasing demand for homecare

With demand for homecare services rising across Cambridge and South Cambridgeshire, Caremark is seeking to expand its team of care assistants, live-in carers, support workers, and senior care roles. The recruitment drive will focus especially on people with empathy, integrity, and a desire to contribute to their local community.

New roles will be available across the following areas served by the office: Over, Swavesey, Cottenham, Willingham, Waterbeach, Bar Hill, Fulbourn, Northstowe, Oakington, Impington, Cambourne, Comberton, Sawston, Great Shelford, Little Shelford, Harston, Hauxton, Haslingfield, Barton, and Milton.

Training programme emphasising professionalism, safety, and growth

All new recruits will undergo Caremark’s rigorous training pathway, tailored to the specific demands of homecare and subject to Caremark’s standards. Training will include, but not be limited to:

  • Mandatory inductions covering safeguarding, health & safety, infection control, and person-centred care
  • Dementia awareness, palliative care, and specialist condition modules
  • Practical shadowing and supervised visits with experienced carers
  • Ongoing professional development, refresher courses, and mentoring

Prospective carers will also be subject to enhanced DBS checks and must provide credible references, consistent with Caremark’s commitment to safety and trust.

This training approach ensures that each care assistant is not only prepared for the practical aspects of the role, but also supported in developing professional skills, confidence, and long-term prospects.

Benefits to staff and the community

  • Career development – Clear pathways from junior care roles to specialist or supervisory positions
  • Local impact – Hiring people from local areas helps reduce travel time, increases community insight, and fosters continuity of care
  • Consistency and quality – With more well-trained staff, clients and their families can expect reliable, high-standard homecare
  • Supportive workplace – Emphasis on mentorship, wellbeing, and investment in employees
