Promise Ranch Therapies & Recreation Asks for Assistance
Offers Community Services and Now Needs Community Help

Franktown, Colorado – June 25, 2021 – Promise Ranch Therapeutic Riding dba Promise Ranch Therapies & Recreation (PRTR) provides equine-assisted and ranch-based services to people with mental health concerns, developmental disabilities, families and veterans. Promise Ranch addresses people’s physical, developmental, social and emotional healing needs.

Operating since 2009, PRTR serves over 100 clients weekly and relies on hundreds of active volunteers. Promise Ranch currently resides on a property which was bought in 2018 by new landowners who inherited the leasing contract with Promise Ranch. The current owners are not supportive of PRTR and do not want the organization on their property. Despite PRTR’s prompt monthly payments and continued good faith efforts to fulfill all the terms of their agreement, the property owners are evicting the community-serving organization off the property prior to the December 2021 end of term noted in the signed agreement. Promise Ranch is urgently looking for monetary or in-kind donations to assist with moving and down payment on a new property, which PRTR is calling “A Home Where We All Belong.”

Promise Ranch is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides Equine-Assisted & Ranch-Based Services, including Adaptive Riding, Mental Health Counseling, Speech/Occupational/Physical Therapies, Nature-Based Activities, Inclusive Recreation and Supported Employment to individuals with mental health concerns, people with developmental or intellectual disabilities, and military veterans.

Promise Ranch is a Facility Member of the American Hippotherapy Association (AHA) and employs licensed Therapists and PATH-Certified (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International) Riding Instructors and Equine Specialists. Promise Ranch’s mission is to Enrich Our Community through Connection and Inclusion, with the vision of serving and empowering our community, including those with differing abilities, veterans, and families through healing with animals and the experiential nature of the Ranch.
