Just Happy Hours Mobile App Founder Recognized by Austin Mayor

Austin, TX, USA – February 28th, 2019 – Rachaelle Lynn, Founder and President of Just Happy Hours, has earned a Business Skills Certificate from the University of Texas at Austin’s Center for Professional Education and the City of Austin. On February 21, she was recognized by Austin Mayor Steve Adler and City Manager Spencer Cronk in a graduation ceremony at the Austin City Council.

The University of Texas at Austin Center for Professional Education partners with the City of Austin’s Small Business Program to offer expert, cost-effective training to Austin-area small business owners. The goal of this partnership is to give business leaders and entrepreneurs training, tools, and helpful resources to facilitate the growth of new or existing businesses.

The Small Business Program also stimulates job creation and economic development for the city of Austin. Lynn completed classes on topics including attracting investors, writing effective business plans, understanding business taxes, accounting procedures, and pricing strategies. She was awarded a gold seal Business Skills Certificate from the program.

“There’s a lot to be said for gaining and refreshing business skills when founding a startup,” Lynn says. “In addition to the fantastic information offered by this program, we have learned about Austin startup resources that have been invaluable in terms of strategically promoting the growth and direction for the Just Happy Hours mobile app.”

Just Happy Hours is a mobile application that helps people meet new people at happy hour events they set up at local restaurants and bars. Restaurants and bars then make more money from their happy hours and other special events like live music and Trivia Nights.

Just Happy Hours solves two major problems: One is societal and the other industry-specific. The first is the difficulty of making new friends after moving, divorce, or other transitions, and the second is the struggle that restaurants and bars have in bringing in new customers in crowded markets without being forced to utilize expensive reservation systems.

Standard listings for restaurants and bars are free, and Gold Membership subscriptions offer top placement in app search results, expanded listings with more photos and space to promote happy hour specials, and the ability to create and promote events. Those features are especially helpful in cities like Austin where the population is mobile, and restaurant and bar options are numerous and highly competitive.
