Pantryperks is an ambitious start-up based out of the Bay Area that offers a curated selection of natural, organic and specialty products for consumers. Through a super-charged Refer-A-Friend Program, it enables consumers to earn multiple cash backs every time they or their friends purchase on the site. According to Rishi Padhi, Founder and CEO PantryPerks Inc, “We are a team of nerds, data scientists, moms, designers and supply chain consultants. We decided it was time to use technology and social commerce to challenge traditional retail margins and redistribute that among consumers so they can fund their passions. Your pantry can now earn you a paycheck.”
Consumers earn 4% cashback on their own purchases, 3% on their friends’ purchases, 2% on their friends’ and 2% yet again on their next level of friends. So earnings multiply quite fast upto 4 levels of purchases (including the consumers’ own purchases). Unlike MLM companies, PantryPerks does not require customers to hold inventory for resale nor does it pay to recruit associates or have a membership fee. Rishi further adds, “We do not sell any private label products, only name-brands that you would see at WholeFoods Market or similar natural grocery stores.”
The online store features grocery, wellness and household essentials that include brands of hair care, facial care, fitness supplements, personal care, herbal supplements, specialty teas, food and beverage and even pet supplies. For the health enthusiasts out there, PantryPerks also provides an option to search products by their attributes such as vegan, 100% organic, fair trade, gluten free, kosher and others.
Additionally, the company believes in supporting causes and charities. Through its PantryPromise charity efforts, it donates 1% of every transaction to charity and causes of consumers’ choice.
Rishi Padhi is a veteran of the consumer packaged goods industry and was previously Head of Vertical Marketing for eBay North America. He is also a former McKinsey consultant. According to him, ‘Our mission is three-fold: Promote well-being, financial freedom and charities/causes’. More information is available at pantryperks.com.
