Vaalwater, Limpopo, South Africa – December 19, 2017 – Waterberg Academy is pleased to announce its latest success story as it continues to educate today’s youth. The private school has just produced its first student to be accepted into Yale University in the United States. This comes as around 100,000 people apply for admission into Yale every year but only around 1,500 of those people actually get in. This makes it one of the more selective schools in the world.
Rachel Calcott was accepted into Yale and will begin her studies there in September 2018. She graduated from Waterberg in 2016.
Rachel is excited to be attending one of the world’s most prominent universities. She was among the top students in her class and focuses mainly on the sciences. She was among the best in her class in life sciences and life orientation. She also studied in the school’s Advanced Programme English course. Calcott has also represented many athletic programs offered by the school.
