The human race is not at its end, but just beginning, believes upcoming Earth Angel Movie Director Timothy Hines

“”During the great Black Plague of Europe, so many people were dying that every town and village had large open fire pits where the dead were thrown daily. Those people thought it was End Times. And in a sense with so much horror and death, the people of”
Timothy Hines, director of the upcoming movie, Earth Angel, shares the view with many that humanity is far from its end at the darkest times, but just beginning to see the light.

Microsoft founder Bill Gates

Bill Gates, recently speaking to College graduates of the class of 2017, recommended a book, saying, “If I could give each of you a graduation present, it would be a copy of ‘The Better Angels of Our Nature,’ by Steven Pinker. After several years of studying, you may not exactly be itching to read a 700-page book. But please put this one on your reading list to get to someday. It is the most inspiring book I have ever read.”

Needless to say sales for, “The Better Angels of Our Nature,” went through the roof. The author makes the point in spite of what most people think, that the world is getting to be a better place and that we actually are living in the most peaceful time in human history.

Timothy Hines, director of the upcoming movie, “Earth Angel,” agrees, stating, “Pinker’s  point is counter-intuitive but it is true. If you tell people the world is better, and safer than it used to be, most people will think you are crazy. But as a whole people are calmer and more compassionate than any other times throughout the centuries. I hear so much about End Times being here that I needed to make Earth Angel as, in part, a call for temperance in acting as though nothing matters because the world is about to end. During the great Black Plague of Europe so many people were dying that every town and village had large open fire pits where the dead were thrown daily. Those people thought it was end times. They thought they were seeing all of the signs. And in a sense with so much horror and death, the people of the 1300s had a better argument then we do. There was not the sophisticated technologies of death we have, but humans were far more brutal to one another.”

The Story of Earth Angel is, when a rich fanatic schemes to use a biological weapon to destroy all life on Earth and prematurely usher in the End Times, it’s up to grieving genius, William Pierce, to stop him — only Pierce has a supernatural ally, an angel named Serah.

“I wrote Earth Angel, a story where a Seraphim angel comes down to stop a group of people who are intent on forcing end times to happen now. I think most people who understand the nature of life on Earth know that we don’t have the power to end the world. Only ourselves. Nuclear weapons or human created pestilence could in the short term, end most life on Earth but over time, species would spring back, probably just not us. So it is probably true that we could wipe ourselves out, but not life. That is an arrogance and a fantasy of our self-importance. Serah, the angel who comes to Earth in Earth Angel doesn’t say the world isn’t going to end, just that it isn’t ours to end. That the ‘End Times’ might be 1000s of years from now. That perhaps, believers should do good because it is what is right, not because they are afraid.”

To make Earth Angel Hines and his producer partner Susan Goforth spent many months courting Hollywood executives and wealthy private investors. Through monumental efforts they funded the film and were ready to go.

The filmmaking duo signed stars such as Malcolm McDowell (A Clockwork Orange, Star Trek: Generations , Mozart in the Jungle ),  actress and former Miss USA Ali Landry, and movie and TV actor Barry Bostwick who co-starred with Michael J. Fox on the long running ABC series Spin City as the New York City mayor. Rising star Linc Hand is in talks to play the lead in Earth Angel. Hand was the pitcher in 42 where he starred alongside Harrison Ford and Chadwick Boseman. Hand also played opposite Daniel Radcliffe in the gripping movie Imperium, and is a reoccurring character in the new FOX supernatural comedy coming this fall, Ghosted with Adam Scott, Ally Walker and Craig Robinson.

Then Hines had a serious health crisis and collapsed from overwork and exhaustion. This health crisis was a blessing because it was the wake up call that saved Timothy’s life instead of him dying on set two or three weeks later.

“Anyone who knows me knows I am a tireless worker but I was sent a signal that there is a reason humankind is supposed to take a day of rest,” Hines reflects.

Timothy had a full recovery, however movies are time sensitive and the picture lost its financing as a result. The movie making team are rebuilding their budget through, again shopping to investors and additionally have started a Gofundme campaign.

Hines expounds, “I have been making movies for decades and the last twenty years have been with Susan Goforth producing. I know when a movie I am developing is going to get made. I can tell by the way people respond to the script and with Earth Angel, virtually everyone who read it had strong powerful reactions. Most came back and told me they cried reading it. Every star we shopped it to said, ‘Yes,’ immediately.”

Hines’ intuitions are not that of a newcomer. Veteran movie director Timothy Hines and producer Susan Goforth are award winning filmmakers and two time Academy Award competitors who’s last film starring Christopher Lambert (best known for Tarzan – Legend of Greystoke, Highlander and Mortal Kombat) and Kelly Le Brock, (Woman in Red with Gene Wilder) and Russian born actress Alexandra Callas, was 10 Days In A Madhouse, the true story of young reporter Nellie Bly who went undercover in an insane asylum in 1887 to expose corruption and murder.

Hines and Goforth’s 10 Days In a Madhouse, was a contender in this year’s Academy Awards, ran 19 weeks in the theaters, played on NBC Comcast Pay-Per-View, DirecTV, is released in countries across the globe, has been translated into dozens of languages, and is currently OnDemand at iTunes, Amazon, Netflix, Vudu, Google Play and on DVD in fine retailers including Amazon, BestBuy, Target, Walmart and Barnes and Noble.

Some 10 Days in a Madhouse alumni will appear in Earth Angel. Some of the cast returning is Alexandra Callas, who delivered a stunning performance as nurse Grupe. In Earth Angel Callas will play Polina, the head of a Russian crime group. Keith White and Gwyn Laree will return, this time as Homeland Security agents. Also from 10 Days will be Talya Mar and Rachel Bohanon. More cast will be announced.

Hines thinks movies like Earth Angel are important that they plant seeds for the future as they entertain.

“I have great hope for humankind,” Hines beams, “I think humankind is not at its dark end. I sense we will figure out the challenges of our failures in greed, selfishness and fear and grow into something worthy of the purity of creation. Earth Angel is part of a movement sweeping the Earth that cannot be stopped by fanatics. We are young yet. I sense we are just leaving the cradle and learning to crawl. Great things are coming for us as we start to figure out our true purpose. A purpose that may well yet to be revealed to us.”
