Kids Yoga Stories is pleased to announce that The Grateful Giraffe won the award for the Children’s Book category of IPNE’s 4th Annual New England Book Awards!
The IPNE Book Awards continue to be a favorite of IPNE members and other indie publishers. Books in the contest were judged by a diverse group of librarians and publishing professionals across New England. Winners and finalists in 9 categories (plus the IPNE Book of the Year) were presented with their award certificates at the IPNE 4th Annual Book Awards Ceremony, on November 4, 2017, at the Robbins Library in Arlington, Massachusetts.
“It’s always wonderful to see our work being appreciated,” commented Giselle Shardlow, owner of Kids Yoga Stories and author of Grateful Giraffe. “Our passion is bringing yoga to kids in a fun and inspirational way, and we look forward to Kids Yoga Stories continuing to grow at a natural and healthy pace.”
Feedback for The Grateful Giraffe has been positive since it was published last year. Suzie, a The Grateful Giraffe reader, says, “This is one of my favorite Giselle Shardlow books thus far! I work with preschoolers with special needs, so books with simple, but powerful text and vibrant illustrations are always a hit. I can think of many ways I can use this book in my language therapy sessions, from describing emotions to discussing animal attributes and actions to matching animals with their noises. The yoga poses add a movement element to my sessions for my kinesthetic learners.”
