Tangier\’s Call of International Festival of Ibn Battuta

The second edition of the International Festival of Ibn Battuta begins today and will last for four consecutive days fully devoted for the celebration of peace, tolerance and interculturality, a unique voluntarist and electic festival dedicated to the world’s great travelers who are the ambassadors of peace. Tangier will be, from 9 to 12 November, the city of all lovers of travel and meetings under the flag of tolerance. 

Organized by the Moroccan Association of Ibn Battuta, this festival will be a meeting ground for artists, collectors, researchers, sociologists, great travelers, tourism professionals, gastronomes, not to mention civil society actors. It is worth noting that this festival is the product of the investment of hundreds of volunteers from all over the globe, a commitment that clearly demonstrates the ardent aspiration of the association and its partners for a better world where principles of peace and tolerance along with other universal values prevail.

Mr. Mohamed DEKKAK, honorary president of the association, a great philanthropist and pacifist, is pleased to make this edition a solemn occasion by instigating the participants to join him and the association’s members in this effort of making Tangier “the capital of tolerance”.

For his part, Mr. Aziz BENAMI, founding president of the Moroccan Association of Ibn Battuta, confirms the steady and unconditional commitment of the association’s members in the promotion of the Moroccan intangible heritage through the valorization of the great Ibn Batouta.
