Tablet & Notebook Display Market Global Market – Overview
Nowadays, tablets are used as an alternative to stationary, large-sized laptops or computing devices. Inbuilt with high-end processors and memory, these devices possess a major impact on the display industry. Upcoming technologies including artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, and machine learning (ML) across various industry verticals are the major factors behind heavy use of tablets and notebooks over traditional computers. Additionally, the market is largely adopting tablets owing to its portability and accessibility features. Since, these devices are often used under high ambient lighting, it serves as a complication for display manufacturers to provide appropriate reflection by neglecting these ambient lights. As the display of these devices comprise glass surfaces, they are more likely to break if mishandled. Thus, it becomes a major challenge for OEMs to provide an efficient and advanced display technology to tablet and notebook manufacturers.
The display technology has evolved from TFT to LCD and then to LED due to the necessity of high resolution output among customers. These display screens have high pixel density (generally between 200-300 pixels per inch PPI) to provide users with sharp and crisp images. Tablets can be effectively used as a second display to a single computer to view documents and spreadsheets on a larger display surface. Dual screen laptops are currently trending the laptop market owing to higher demand of large display screen in a compact device by customers.
