Superheroes Course: A Fun Alternative to Traditional English Class

In keeping with the trend of mixing popular culture and traditional subjects, Professor Dawn Cordray will teach Superheroes: Epic Battles of Good and Evil at Heritage University online beginning August 21, 2017.

Students will watch, read and analyze iconic superhero movies and TV scripts to learn how and why they are so popular. This understanding will enable students to write their own original fast-paced short stories with unforgettable characters and a gripping plot inspired by the study of superheroes.

The course combines online lectures with individual online assignments and peer-forum participation.  Superheroes can be taken as a 3-credit undergraduate course or a 2-credit graduate course.  Credits can be transferred to any accredited university.

Professor Cordray is a writer, editor, songwriter, and master teacher. Her novels, novellas, anthologies, short stories and screenplay have more than two million copies in circulation worldwide.

“You have to take some classes that you are not crazy about,” says Cordray, “so treat yourself to a class that you’ll love.”
