“This book is an opportunity for me to add value to the lives of other people who might be going through the same thing I went through. Everyone’s mental health issues is unique. This book is not a fix-all, but a narrative of my experience fighting depression and other health problems I couldn’t control. I want people to learn from me and use their judgment to apply the lessons learned to their own situation and push themselves out of their situation,” said Rebecca Lombardo.

It’s Not Your Journey is a book about the true story of a woman as she struggles and fights a battle inside her mind every single day. She attempts to document her experience in her book to help other people, while she helps herself. Rebecca’s story deals with mental and emotional health issues like depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, self-injury, and more. Rebecca is not a professional, and the book is not a guide or instructional manual but is an attempt by a woman to tell her story, with the hope that other people passing through the same issues can learn one thing or the other from it.

“This is a book that every health center on a college campus should have on their shelves. Young adults are particularly vulnerable to depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and cutting, and Lombardo has given voice to these disorders. Because of her courage, in writing about that which is often hidden, others who are struggling with the same will better understand their challenges. Bravo Rebecca Lombardo — well done,” said Gwendolyn P, a fan.

It’s Not Your Journey was written from the heart when the author was going through a very difficult situation. The book contributes to the fight to take mental illness out of the background to the front page, and offer sufferers hope that there is light at the end of the tunnel. In addition to helping people overcome their situation, it also provides regular people opportunity to understand better what mentally ill people go through.
